CLARKSON SWEPT BY OSWEGO STATE

Potsdam, NY - Despite standout performances from Sarah Morris (Amherst, NY) and Matt Szrama (Orchard Park, NY), the Clarkson University Swim team was swept by Oswego State, falling to the Lakers 135-91 in the men's meet and 134-99 in the women's meet Saturday afternoon at Clarkson's Fuller Pool.

Morris won both the 200 meter individual medley (2:39.56) and 200 meter back stroke (2:34.74) to lead the Golden Knights in the women's dual meet. Freshman Susan Johnson (Greenfield Center, NY) was the only other individual winner for Clarkson as she came in first in the 200 meter breast stroke (3:06.15). The Golden Knights also won the 400 meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:39.56, led by Cassandra Moulton, Samantha Bragan, Veronica Wolak and Kristina Wolak.

On the men's side, Srzama placed first in the 200 and 400 meter freestyle events as the only Golden Knights' men's swimmer to win multiple events. Senior Kevin Ashcroft (Wolverine Lake, MI) came in first in the 200 meter butterly (2:27.53) and freshman Corey Curtis (Erieville, NY) won te 200 meter breast stroke (2:45.18) for Clarkson. The Golden Knights also won the 400 meter freestyle relay when Conor Stevens, Jeff Manzo, Jon Peck, and Ashcroft finished the event in 4:00.25.
