Memphis, TN – Senior Christine Wright racked up 12 points on six goals and six assists, coming within one point of the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse record for tallies in a single game, as the Golden Knights came away with their third straight double-digit win with a 17-7 victory over Rhodes College on Thursday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 4-1 overall and have won four straight games, with the last three averaging a margin of 11.7 goals per game. Rhodes to 6-2.

For the second straight game, the Knights wasted little time in establishing a lead that their opponent had no chance of overcoming. The Knights scored the first give goals of the game in the opening 10 minutes. Still up by five midway through the half, Christine Wright scored three straight goals and assisted on the last goal of the half, a score by Stephanie Lynch with just seven seconds to go, to give the Knights an 11-2 lead at the break.

That was the last time the clock would stop until the waning moments of the game as Clarkson established a 10-goal lead on Wright's score at the 29:33 mark of the second half. The Knights would push their advantage to as many as 13 (15-2) when Casey Shannon scored at the 19:01 mark, but the Lynx kept things respectable by responding with three straight goals to climb back to within 10 (15-5). Emma Jeffery scored on a free-position shot at 12:37 and Wright notched her 12th point of the game on a goal at 9:56 to finish off Clarkson's scoring as the Knights cruised to the win.

Besides the career-high 12 points, Wright also caused four turnovers and earned seven draws. Junior Ashley Flick scored five points on two goals and three assists and Lynch produced three goals. Kate Dillon also had two goals, an assist, and three groundballs, while Casey Shannon and Emma Jeffery each scored a pair of goals. Taylor Collins rounded out the scoring with an assist, and she also corralled three draws. In the Clarkson crease, Samantha Gladd denied three shots in 45:29 while Carrie Yurkon stopped two shots in the final 14:31.

For the Lynx, Kendall Cunningham scored three times, while Morgan Fuller and Maggie Rippeto each had a goal and an assist. Ashley Doyle made one save in 21:27 in goal for Rhodes, and Katherine Tooley stopped five shots over 38:33.

The Knights held a 27-14 lead in shots and a 17-9 advantage in draw controls. The two teams were tied with 22 groundballs apiece.
