With its second consecutive 20-goal outing the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team won its sixth straight game by defeating SUNY Canton 20-3 at Hantz Turf Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Emma Andrews and Katie Sergeant, a pair of freshmen, led the way with eight and five points, respectively, to help the Golden Knights improve to 7-1 on the season. Andrews tallied three goals and five assists, while Sergeant scored a game-high five goals.

Clarkson dominated play from the start, scoring the game's first four goals en route to a 14-1 half-time lead. The Knights outscored the Kangaroos 6-2 over the final 30 minutes.

Clarkson held a 30-9 shot advantage and controlled ground balls 20-13.

Freshman Lexi Smith, who also recorded one assist, and sophomore Jaid Baytos netted three goals each.

Juniors Taylor Kwiek (1-1) and Taylor Collins (1-1), and senior Kate Dillon (0-2) posted two points apiece for the Green and Gold.

Seniors Christina Pollard and Paula Morse, junior Casey Shannon and freshman Abby Collins rounded out the Clarkson goal scorers with one tally each.

Theresa DiMartin, MaryClare Bowes and Sydney Kinder accounted for Canton's scoring with one goal apiece.

Sergeant and Dillon picked up a team-high three ground balls each.

Sophomore Samantha Gladd recorded the win in the Clarkson goal with two saves in the first half. Classmate Carrie Yurkon played the final 30 minutes in the Knights' goal and also posted two saves.

Clarkson opens Liberty League play this Saturday at St. Lawrence with a 1:00 p.m. game.
