Coming off a season in which the team finished three games over .500 and just missed out on the Liberty League Tournament, the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team is seeking a further uptick in the win column in 2024-25.

Guided by 11th-year head coach Jeff Gorski and assistant Manasseh Small, the Golden Knights return four of their five starters from last season's conference-leading scoring offense. Another high-scoring output is expected from Clarkson as the team looks to get up and down the court to possibly top last year's 78.6 points per game and 252 3-pointers.

Clarkson will be without a handful of players who departed via graduation, none bigger than conference all-star and all-region selection Ryan Miles-Ferguson, who averaged 21.4 points per game and was clearly the team's go-to scorer in crunch time. Several returners will be looking to take over that spot in 2024-25, including seniors Jack Dalgety and Matteo Sinon and sophomore Braeden Burns. Dalgety was a key sniper from the perimeter, making 50 3-pointers to average 10.9 points per game along with 6.0 rebounds per contest. Sinon, who missed most of the conference season due to injury, is making his way back as well and was a key part to running the team's offense along with being a scoring threat from both the perimeter and off the dribble. Burns was a prolific scorer on occasion, posting 28 points or more on four occasions, mostly on drives to the basket, but steadily improved his perimeter game down the stretch, making 15 of his 22 3-pointers on the season in the last seven games of the year.

Also returning as a starter is senior forward Finn Cork. Like several of his teammates, Cork was more than capable of putting up big offensive numbers. The big man dominated SUNY Potsdam with 34 points and 15 rebounds and did the same in conference play with a 23-point, 16-rebound effort against Union late in the season. Cork, Dalgety, and Burns each averaged more than six rebounds per game, helping Clarkson clean up the boards at both ends of the floor. Adding to Clarkson's enviable front court are senior Sean Enelamah, junior Aydin Kocak, and sophomore Ben Phillips.

Once Sinon was down for the season, first-year guard Steve DeRegis stepped in as the team's point guard while also providing a bit of offense as well, including five games in which he reached double figures in scoring. DeRegis was one of several freshman guards who filled certain roles, including returners Casey Montesano and Matt Toscano. Another key player off the bench for the Knights was Matthew Parent, who saw most of his action in the second half of the season as yet another 3-point shooting threat.

Clarkson added several newcomers to the program that will see minutes immediately. Lorenzo Rappa should see time at the point to start the season, while Ben Rappa and Tyson Maxam also add back court depth. Jeff Dewar and Grayson Wallace are two more forwards to add to the mix, with Dewar likely to contribute key minutes.
