After opening the season at Alumni Gymnasium on Tuesday, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team travels to northeast Pennsylvania to take part in the Keystone College Tip-Off Tournament. The Knights will face Cedar Crest College on Friday at 7 p.m. and Keystone on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Series: The matchups this weekend will be the first time that Clarkson has faced either school. Cedar Crest, located in Allentown, Pennsylvania finished with an 8-12 overall record last year, 6-10 in the United East Conference where they fell in the first round of the conference playoffs to Bryn Athyn. Keystone, of La Plume, Pennsylvania, also competes in the United East and finished 16-10 overall, 10-6 in the UEC, falling in the first round to Saint Elizabeth University. 

Key Stats for Clarkson (0-1): The Knights are coming off a 74-63 loss to SUNY Canton at home where Fallon Griffin (17), Kate Campbell (16) and Bella Doyle (15) all scored in double figures for Clarkson. Doyle and Griffin grabbed nine and eight rebounds, respectively, pacing the team while Doyle also dished out four assists. Junior Addie Kea produced four assists of her own through 23 minutes as the Knights registered 16 overall. 

Key Stats for Cedar Crest College (3-0): The Falcons are off to a hot start in 2025, beating Penn State Hazleton, 59-33, on Tuesday. Ginger Kerdock and Analyse Rios led the scoring output with 11 points each. As a team, Cedar Crest is averaging 72 points per game while holding opponents to just under 53, their closest margin of victory was a 14 point win over Lehman on November 8th. The team has also combined for 13.3 assists per game to go with 15 steals per contest but have been somewhat careless with the ball, turning it over an average of 24 times. Ella Biancarosky (17.3 ppg), Rios (14.7 ppg) and Weronika Swojack (10.7 ppg, 11.3 rebounds per game) lead the Falcons. Kerdock plays a significant role in the offense averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 assists per game. 


Key Stats for Keystone College (0-2): The Giants will host SUNY Poly on Friday looking to rebound from a 84-15 loss to SUNY Geneseo on Monday. Prior to the weekend they have been outscored 170-57 by opponents, a -56.5 scoring margin. Aaliyah Barnes is the only player averaging in double digits for scoring with 11.5 points per game while also grabbing 7.5 boards per contest through an average of 30 minutes per game. Phaneirra Barnett leads Keystone in rebounding with 8.5 per game while Hailee Hackett has played an average of 35.5 minutes per game over the course of the team's opening matchups.
