Katie VanDeValk

Katie VanDeValk is entering her third season with the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team as the top assistant coach. VanDeValk, a 2013 graduate of Clarkson University with a degree in Biology and a minor in Business, was a two-sport athlete for the Golden Knights in both soccer and lacrosse.

In 58 career games for the Knights’ lacrosse squad, VanDeValk scored 166 career goals and had 38 assists for 204 points, ranking second all-time at Clarkson in goals and points and fourth in assists. A four-year member of the team, VanDeValk earned Liberty League First-Team All-Star status from the midfield as a senior when the team posted its first winning season at 11-5. She led the team in caused turnovers (22), groundballs (41), and tied for the team lead with 53 goals. In 65 games with the Clarkson women’s soccer team, VanDeValk started 63 times in 65 career games, recording two goals and an assist despite playing defense for the majority of her career.

In addition to being a well-decorated student-athlete, VanDeValk was an excellent student, making the Dean’s List on five occasions. She was a four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and in the spring of 2013 she was chosen as the Clarkson Athletic Department’s Ed Sayer Memorial Award recipient, an honor that recognizes an individual that exhibits passion for their teammates, an indelible work ethic, a passion for sport, and an appreciation of the intricacies and importance of teamwork.
