CU Women's Lacrosse Preview - at SUNY Canton (3/27)

In the last three games, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team has scored 56 goals, and the Golden Knights look to keep that offensive firepower going against SUNY Canton on Tuesday.

The Series: The two teams have faced one another six times since 2012, with Clarkson winning four meetings. After losses in 2014 and 2015, Clarkson has outscored the Kangaroos 29-4 in the last two games.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-2): It was not a particularly close contest last year, with the Knights winning 20-3, but a big part of that offense came from newcomers to the Clarkson program. Emma Andrews posted eight points on three goals and five assists, Katie Sergeant scored five goals with eight draw controls, and Lexi Smith tallied four points with three goals and an assist. That trio of sophomores have combined for 51 points so far this year with 35 goals and 16 assists. None, however, is the leading sophomore scorer on the team. That honor would go to second-year standout Abby Collins, who has 19 points on 16 goals and three assists.

Key Stats for SUNY Canton (3-2): The Roos' top three scorers in 2018 ranked in the top four for SUNY Canton in 2017. Senior Allison Auger has nearly matched her output from last year in just five games, scoring 19 points on 12 goals and seven assists after recording 25 points in 2017. Junior MaryClare Bowes is halfway to her 2017 totals with 18 points on 17 goals and an assist, while sophomore Molly Denny also has recorded 15 points on 14 goals and an assist to go along with 13 groundballs and nine caused turnovers. Carin Sherwood leads the team with 14 draws.
