CU Women's Lacrosse Preview - vs. Oswego State (3/7)

Facing its third SUNYAC opponent in a week, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team looks to get through this portion of the non-league schedule with a winning mark when the Golden Knights take on Oswego State Wednesday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

The Series: In 20 previous meetings, Clarkson has come away with nine victories, but the Golden Knights have won three straight and five of the last six contests against the Lakers. The Knights won 10-6 in last year's game, winning 12 of the 15 draws to help control the pace of play.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-1): The Golden Knights have done a good job of limiting their opponents' chances, holding teams to just 39 shots in two games while rifling off 61. Clarkson has also been excellent on the draw winning nearly two-thirds of the attempts (29-15). Jaid Baytos leads the in scoring with seven goals, but she has been aided by both Taylor Collins (5-1-6) and Abby Collins (6-0-6). Taylor Collins also ranks either first or second for the Knights in groundballs (5), caused turnovers (3) and draw controls (9).

Key Stats for Oswego State (2-0): The Lakers offense has been impressive in two home games (16.5 goals per game) in 2018. Toni Laneve and Brigid Regin have each scored eight goals, while Teresa Shattuck leads the squad with 12 points thanks to four goals and eight assists. The offense generally runs through Shattuck, who produced her four goals on just six shots while setting up her teammates more frequently by gaining a team-best 13 draw controls. Montana Garrett has also filled up the stat sheet in the early going with four goals, seven draws and team-highs of seven groundballs and five caused turnovers.
