The annual crosstown rivalry against SUNY Potsdam will be renewed on Tuesday when the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team hosts the Bears in a non-league game just before the Thanksgiving break.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Last year's contest was a series of runs as Potsdam rolled out to a 20-2 lead in five minutes only to see that advantage evaporate before the end of the half. The Bears did just enough in the second half to gain a 77-66 win, only their second win against Clarkson in the past decade as the Knights hold a 10-2 lead in the matchup over the last 10 seasons.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-2): Sophomore Chris Hulbert scored 23 points against Potsdam last year, a total he has topped only twice since in his collegiate career. He tossed in seven 3-pointers in that game and has been on a roll from beyond the 3-point arc in the last three games, shooting 14-for-29 from distance over that span (48.3%). Senior Matt Higgins could reach the 1000-point mark before the end of the semester, as he has 59 points in four games this season and is up to 936 for his career. Sophomore forward Reese Swedberg enjoyed his best game as a collegian last week against Oswego and is now averaging 14.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Senior Barryn Shark is tied for second in the league in assists per game at 6.3 per contest and is also among the team leaders with 4.5 rebounds per game.

Key Stats for Potsdam (3-1): The Bears like to play fast, and were it not for a 52-point output against Division I Albany last week, Potsdam would be averaging 85 points per contest. The team has taken 116 free throws in just four games and 102 of those came in the first three contests of the year. Brandon Segar leads the team in scoring at 16.3 points per game and also contributes 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 47.4% from beyond the 3-point arc. Jayquan Thomas chips in 15.5 points and 3.5 steals per contest while Danny Delsol-Lowry is averaging 14.0 points and 4.8 boards per game. He is also shooting 84.8% from the free throw line with 28 makes in 33 tries. Newcomer Tyrese Baptiste is also nearly averaging a double-double on 11.3 points and 9.3 boards per game.
