With four games of non-league play in the rear mirror, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team opens up the Liberty League season on Saturday when it hosts Rensselaer at Hantz Turf Field.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: The all-time matchup has been dominated in two time frames, with Clarkson winning seven of eight contests between 1984-1991 and the Engineers earning victories in 27 of the last 28 times out since 1992. Clarkson's lone win in that run came in 2016. RPI won twice versus the Knights last year, including a 10-7 victory in the Liberty League playoffs.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-2): With two more goals on Wednesday, senior Jaid Baytos moved into a tie for seventh in Clarkson program history in points with 138 (105-33-138). She is one of three players for the Golden Knights with at least nine goals, tied with Katie Sergeant and one behind Aubrey Borgesi (10). Borgesi is also the team leader in draws (11). Freshman Sydney Roderick is proving to be one of the top playmakers in the conference, averaging 3.25 assists per game (13 total). She also leads the team in scoring with 19 points for an average of 4.75 per game, good enough for fifth in the Liberty League. Senior Amanda Ellman is the team's top defender, leading the squad with 11 groundballs and six caused turnovers.

Key Stats for Rensselaer (3-0): The Engineers will certainly be well rested, having last played on March 6 in South Carolina. RPI leaned heavily upon Abbey Salvon and Maddy Aslansan in last year's regular-season win against Clarkson, with the pair combining for 11 goals and two assists, while a more balanced attack won the day in the playoffs as no player scored more than two points in that game. Senior goalkeeper Aleena Milinski has 34 saves in three contests this year, and she, too, was a key component in the Engineers' success against Clarkson last year. Milinski made 26 saves for a .619 save percentage in the two victories against the Knights in 2018. Sophomore Nora Molino has been busy on draws this year, earning 18 so far to go along with eight groundballs.
