What once was supposed to be the home-opener for the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team is now suddenly game three at Hantz Turf Field, as the Golden Knights will host Utica College on Saturday afternoon.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: After Utica won in 2015, the series was evened up at eight games apiece, but the Golden Knights have won three straight against the Pioneers to take an 11-8 edge all-time. Clarkson won last year's contest 12-8 with then sophomore Lexi Smith tallying six points on two goals and four assists.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-1): Despite a .500 record, the Golden Knights have dominated their first two opponents in terms of shots (85-38), shots on goal (71-30) and groundballs (59-37). Seven different players have scored at least three goals this year as a deep offense has become richer in scoring options. Freshman Sydney Roderick leads the team with nine points on five goals and four assists, with juniors Katie Sergeant and Aubrey Borgesi tying for the team lead, along with Roderick, in goals scored. Jaid Baytos has also chipped in four goals while Abby Collins and Emma Andrew have tossed in four points apiece. Collins' numbers across the board are solid through two contests, with five groundballs, five caused turnovers and eight draws on the stat line.

Key Stats for Utica (2-0): The Pioneers have doubled up opponents, 24-12, in two games with varying results, including a 14-3 victory and a 10-9 win. Utica is holding opponents to just a .490 clear percentage with a pesky defensive effort coming from the midfielders. Hailee Dumont, Lexi Scaccia, Kaitlyn Palmer, and Katlyn Scarpinella each have at least five caused turnovers and three goals scored so far. Scarpinella leads the team on offense with eight points (3-5-8) while Scaccia is the team's early leader in groundballs (7) and draw controls (11). Hali Vandermeulen is posting solid numbers in the crease with a 5.41 goals against average and .667 save percentage.
