Off to a 2-0 start against SUNYAC teams, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team gets a third shot at a team from that league when it hosts 23rd-ranked SUNY Geneseo on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Field.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: The two teams have only met twice before, but one of those games came last year when Geneseo claimed a 15-6 win on its home field. Geneseo won the battle of the scoreboard as well as shots (41-24), shots on goal (28-17), groundballs (29-18) and draw controls (17-6).

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-0): Sophomore Sydney Roderick will need a big game on Saturday to tie a program-record for the fastest to 100 career points. Roderick has nine point in two games this year after a five-point effort against Oswego State on Wednesday, but is still nine points away from the century mark. Back in 2011 Alyssa Cristaldi reached 100 points in her 22nd career game while Christine Wright reached 100 points in her 24th game in 2014. Roderick will play her 22nd collegiate game this weekend and has 91 points on 34 goals and 57 assists, three of which came against Geneseo last season.

Key Stats for Geneseo (3-1): The Knights have won three straight games, all of which are in the nearby area, beating 19th-ranked William Smith by a goal and topping both University of Rochester and RIT in the last week. Hannah Marafiotti leads the team with 22 points, 10 of those coming against RIT on Wednesday. She has proven a difficult player to defend, as eight of her goals have come on free-position attempts. Nicole Voci (6-7-13), Jacquie Thorsen (8-4-12), Tessa Doody (9-2-11) and Megan Henderson (8-2-10) are already in double figures for points. Both Henderson (3-2-5) and Doody (3-1-4) enjoyed solid efforts against Clarkson a year ago. Caitlyn Merkel may not make add much in the way of goals, but her effort can't be ignored, as she has 24 draw controls and nine caused turnovers in four games thus far.
