The opening weekend of the Liberty League season saw the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team suffer a pair of narrow defeats, so the Golden Knights will be looking to pick up their first victory in conference play Wednesday when the Green and Gold host St. Lawrence University.

The Series: Clarkson struggled offensively against St. Lawrence last season, averaging just 37.0 points per game in two meetings. After winning a long series of games against the Saints in 2020-21, the Knights dropped both games to St. Lawrence last season, falling to 25-76 in the all-time matchup.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-3, 0-2 Liberty League): Two-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week Bella Doyle has provided a consistent force on the interior so far in the young season, leading the conference in rebounds per game at 10.4 rpg. Her 9.4 defensive rebounds per contest are nearly two more than any other player in the league, and she is making 47.5% of her shots. Sophomore guard Cassidy Dumont leads the team in scoring with 13.6 points per contest, while senior guard/forward Elaina Porter has increased her rebounding production and is averaging 8.0 points and 8.0 boards per contest.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (3-2, 1-1 Liberty League): Like Clarkson, the Saints have a standout first-year collegian in Jackie Malley. The guard from Massachusetts is the team's top threat from the perimeter, having made at least two 3-pointers in all five games this season, shooting 35.9% (14-for-39) from beyond the arc to average 10.4 points per game. Senior Olivia Middleton is providing her usual solid all-around effort, scoring 11.2 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest. Olivia Barringer returned to action this weekend and posted 10.0 rebounds per contest against Skidmore and Union.
