Clarkson host RIT

The Clarkson Golden Knights will host the RIT Tigers in a Monday night tilt during the semester break.  Clarkson lost to the Tigers back in October, but has won 3 straight to finish out the semester.

Tonight will mark the last non conference home game this season, and will be a good bridge between the USA Exhibition game and the game Saturday at Niagara.

The last action the Knights saw was an 8-2 win in an exhibition game vs the US NTDP U-18 Squad.  In the 8-2 win, Tate Taylor and Jared Mangan both scored twice, and Gelinas,  Sukovic, Brassington, and O'Donnell also scored for the Knights.  Nick Avakyan made his Clarkson debut making 7 saves in 32 minutes of play, while Keenan Rancier didn't allow a goal on 7 shots in 27 minutes.

The success last 3 games is in part to the help that the young players are starting to provide on the scoresheet.  Freshman accounted for 11 of the 21 total points in 2 games, and 16 of the 21 total points came from the Freshman and Sophomore classes.
Owen Van Steensel leads all first year Knights in points with 11 and leads the team in goals with 7, Jace Letourneau and Justin Cote both have 2 goals and 1 assist in their last 4 games.

Shane Soderwall will be back in the pipes for the Knights.  He has played in 16 games with a 2.79 GAA and a .904 save percentage.  The Knights will also see the return of Mael St. Denis who missed several games at the end of the fall semester.

Tonight's game can be streamed on ESPN+ and heard on B99.3 FM
